Grant Monies to Environmental Groups

Grant monies to environmental groups

The following two articles are tiny examples of why I believe double dipping by environment groups should be stopped.
Senator Enzi (WY) and I have had discussions regards environmental groups and their double dipping. Being a CPA, he has an excellent understanding of how these numbers break out. One solution? Stop federal funding of environmental groups. Here's one possible way to achieve this:As a part of the Economic Recovery Plan, President Bush could issue an Executive Order - placing a "Review Moratorium on Government Grants to Non-profits" which support and or engage in environmental activities defined as and including: climate change, global warming, wildlife, conservation easements, animal alliances, Endangered Species Act. [Marc - this is where your input could be invaluable.]These groups would be required to submit their books for review, in order that; "monies received from the government are shown, and amounts used for lawsuits against federal or state governments are identified and stopped. The purpose: To end federal gifts to any non-profit organization which uses said monies in litigatious actions against federal or state governments. For examples, some groups that allegedly support litigation actions against federal and state governments include:Friends of the Earth, AFL-CIO, Alliance for Justice, Earth Action, Earth Force, Environmental Alliance for Senior Involvement, Friends of the Earth, Gay Men's Health Crisis, Pesticide Action Network North America, Peace and Justice Center, Rural Coalition, Sierra Club, Southern Appalachian Labor School, Teamsters, United Auto Workers, American Federation of Teachers, American Library Association, Environmental Federation of America, Earth Share (EarthJustice Legal Defense Fund), The Nature Conservancy. Through said grants, these groups possibly bleed off millions and millions of taxpayer dollars. The ancillary ripple affect of their actions unnecessarily - and additionally cost Americans untold billions. These federally subsidized bail-outs that have enjoyed years of anonymity, deserve to be publically exposed and the money flows stopped. They should be required to subsist on private donations equal to the number of individuals who want to surge forth imports and end American resource production.I believe it would be economically prudent and beneficial to national security to keep American resource production alive and vital; therefore, I believe not one tax dollar should ever go towards its destruction.
Please urge President Bush to activate an Executive Order - placing a "Review Moratorium of Government Grants to Non-Profits."

Thank you,
Roni Bell Sylvester

Maybe Allard can get funds back from The Nature Conservancy
It's terrific that Sen. Wayne Allard is showing interest in the position of chancellor of Colorado State University. His eager submission of application and lining up with other qualified candidates for the interview, shows his agreeable willingness to follow the great American way of protocol.Perhaps if accepted by the CSU Board of Governors, he'll be able to convince The Nature Conservancy to return some of the millions of dollars he secured for them (to partner with the U.S. Army in purchasing land in South East Colorado). It is our understanding that because the Army indicated they'd exercise eminent domain, TNC withdrew their co-partner capacity, leaving them with several million of those dollars un-used.Since the TNC was the recipient of tax-payer dollars anyway, it'd be totally acceptable if they returned it to us via educating our young at Colorado State University.Or, while he's still our U.S. Senator, he could persuade TNC to do that, regardless.

Conservation groups challenge owl recovery plan
By Jeff Barnard
Associated Press Writer / November 25, 2008
GRANTS PASS, Ore.-Conservation groups are suing the Bush administration to undo the northern spotted owl recovery plan that is making it possible to ramp up old growth forest logging in Oregon.
A coalition of conservation groups filed motions Monday to intervene in a timber industry lawsuit over the owl in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.
Seattle Audubon Society and the others argue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service was politically influenced by the Bush administration and violated the Endangered Species Act by ignoring the best available science, both in the plan for saving the owl from extinction and in deciding to reduce protections for old growth forests where the owl lives by 1.6 million acres.
The spotted owl was declared a threatened species in 1990 primarily because of heavy logging in old growth forests. Lawsuits from conservation groups led to the creation of the Northwest Forest Plan, which cut logging on federal lands by more than 80 to protect habitat for the owl, salmon and other species.
The declining log production led to economic pain in the region, particularly in small logging towns, and the Bush administration has been trying since 2000 to relax environmental laws and regulations to boost logging levels, with little success.
The owl recovery plan twice flunked peer reviews by outside scientists who said it contained no scientific basis for allowing more logging of the old growth forests set aside under the Northwest Forest Plan as habitat for the owl. The plan also identified wildfire and the invasion of spotted owl territory by the barred owl as factors in the threatened bird's decline.
Dominick DellaSala of the National Center for Conservation Science & Policy, a plaintiff in the lawsuit, served on a team of scientists who worked on the owl recovery plan before it was taken over by the Fish and Wildlife Service.
He said they were prevented from doing their jobs by a group of Bush administration officials in Washington, who needed an owl recovery plan that would allow logging in old growth forests in order to push through the so-called Whopper, or Western Oregon Plan Revision, which dismantles the Northwest Forest Plan for saving owls and increases logging on federal lands in western Oregon.
Kristen Boyles, an attorney for Earthjustice, the public interest law firm representing the conservation groups, said the owl recovery plan, smaller critical habitat and the Whopper, "are the final pieces to the puzzle the Bush administration has been putting together the last eight years to undo the Northwest Forest Plan and deliver unsustainable amounts of timber to the timber industry."
Fish and Wildlife Service spokeswoman Joan Jewett said she could not comment on pending litigation.
Tom Partin, president of the American Forest Resource Council, said the recovery plan was a good one, but leaving so much forest in critical habitat will prevent the logging needed to prevent future wildfires that will destroy even more acres.
"We need the ability to manage the lands to be sure they stay in a more healthy state," Partin said. "We just feel we'll lose more acres of owl critical habitat to fire."
Research shows that spotted owl numbers continue to drop by 4 percent annually as a result of logging, wildfires and an invasion of its habitat by the barred owl, a more aggressive East Coast cousin that migrated across Canada and has been working its way south.
The Bush administration agreed to produce a new spotted owl recovery plan and review the critical habitat designation under terms of the settlement of a lawsuit brought by the timber industry.

The Plundering and Looting of America's Roots

"The Plundering and Looting of America's Roots"

When the madman Hitler rose to power in Germany, it was just after the time that Germany had suffered a humiliating defeat in the first World War, (a war Germany started) and was rendered militarily "toothless" by the Versailles treaty. German national pride was at a low ebb at the time and Hitler's passion and grand oratory gave the German people a reason to feel good about themselves again, even though the message Hitler was promoting differed remarkably from what was hidden in the deep recesses of his diabolical mind. Hitler could not have accomplished his rise to power all on his own. He had both political and financial help from those who saw fame and fortune in riding on Hitler's coattails. But worst of all, he had willing accomplices in the German people. A very large percentage of the German people, who saw through Hitler's propaganda, essentially stood by and did nothing. The cost of millions of lives and untold property damage rests squarely on their shoulders.

The plan that Hitler had for the conquest of Europe and beyond was devious, if not wholly evil. He had two overriding passions, he hated the Jews and the Slavs and he had an unhealthy, almost obsessive love of art. As his armies spread across Europe, they, on his orders, plundered and looted trophy art from every museum, building and every household they encountered and conquered, or destroyed. Hitler was responsible for not only taking millions of lives, destroying countless buildings and homes, but on his direction, robbed the people of their entire religious and cultural heritage in their art and their architecture.

After the war, the allies found tons of trophy art hidden in caves and mountain strongholds and castles, all across Germany, that the Russians hadn't found. The job of cataloging, restoration and returning the art to their rightful owners took years and is still going on today. Over 50,000 catalogued pieces of art are still missing. Some may have been lost to collateral damage. But still other pieces of fine and trophy art are in the possession of Germans and other war perpetrators that worked hand-in-hand with the Germans. It will be generations before all the art is determined to be either lost, or surfaces from family members offering the art for sale, who have no idea of the art's origin.

In its 232-year history, America has had many fine artists that have expressed their work in millions of paintings, sculptures and other artifacts. The production of art in a country of 300,000,000 people is mind boggling. Some of the art is truly excellent and some mediocre at best. Nevertheless, the art is representative of the American "culture", no matter what the medium in which it was cast. American art is not yet old enough to label it as antiquities art, with the accompanying high value.

But there is more to the American culture than just its art, as there was more to the European and Russian cultures than their trophy art and its architecture. America, among all countries that were formed since civilization began, is totally unique, in that it was formed under an umbrella of unalienable, individual rights that brought individuals true freedom and liberty. Part of those unalienable, individual rights was the foundation of all such rights, and that was the right to "own" and "possess" property, or property rights.

But stealing a country's heritage does not necessarily have to be accomplished by physical force. Today, through legislation and bureaucratic rule making, the true heritage of America's culture, private property rights, is being systematically plundered and looted by a government who has lost all allegiance to the foundation of America's freedom, its Constitution. Based on the false premise that man is killing the planet and lobbied incessantly by radical environmentalists, government, at all levels, (the looters) is unconstitutionally shoving radical environmentalism down the throats of private landowners in every corner of America, based on that false premise. Under the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, man-cause global warming policies, the Environmental Protection Agency and a plethora of other laws, rules and acts, government thumbs its nose at the 5th Amendment to our constitution and takes private land by regulation, or outright confiscation and totally ignores due process and just compensation. The right of eminent domain has been so perverted by the courts as to authorize an eminent domain taking for almost any reason; the "any reason" being decided by government.

Now, just as in Germany in the 1930's, the American government has willing accomplices in these vile, draconian acts and these accomplices, for fame and fortune, have hitched a ride on the coattails of this out-of-control government. As the whores they are, these accomplices take their marching orders from United Nations hacks and international monetary oligarchs and hangout in government offices collecting favors, writing legislation and requesting grants to fund their evil activities against American landowners.

But worst of all, the government, the socialists and radical environmentalists have willing accomplices in a large percentage of the American people. Most of these willing accomplices live in big cities.

In spite of this plundering and looting of America's roots, the core of the American people still believe in the foundation of constitutional freedom. With few exceptions, the heartland of America is predominantly conservative. It is only in the high-dense urban centers, in big cities, on our three coasts and in and around the Great Lakes region, who are hopelessly dependent on government, that continuously vote to keep the socialists in office, who continuously pass legislation to keep the big city's "pig trough" full. Big cities are also bastions of radical environmentalism and multi-culturalism. Their heavy vote-majority perpetuates these un-American and in many cases, unconstitutional policies. While the big-city radical environmentalists lobby government to steal your land, the big-city socialists lobby government to steal your money. Under these insane socialist and radical environmental policies, failure is rewarded and success is taxed to pay for the failures. An up-side-down Orwellian world if there ever was one.

However, a high percentage of the American people still believe in unalienable, individual rights, property rights, free markets and capitalism. They believe that the Constitution is the foundation of our freedom and liberty, and is and should, be the Supreme Law of the Land. But as in 1930's Germany, if the core of the American people who believe in liberty, stand by while their culture and heritage are plundered and looted by those who hold no allegiance to constitutional freedom, they will one day find themselves as slaves to the looters. Or, are they already slaves and just don't know it? The entire cost of this plundering and looting rests squarely on the shoulders of those who knew what was going on, but did nothing to stop it.

One way to take a stand against those accomplices who would unconscionably steal your cultural heritage, property rights and your money, is to make a Declaration of Individual Independence and Reaffirm American Constitutional Sovereignty. A copy of such a Declaration can be obtained by requesting it at info@narlo.org.

Growing accumulation of Science Challenges Warming Fears

Scientists urge caution on global warmingPOLITICO

Climate change skeptics on Capitol Hill are quietly watching a growing accumulation of global cooling science and other findings that could signal that the science behind global warming may still be too shaky to warrant cap-and-trade legislation. While the new Obama administration promises aggressive, forward-thinking environmental policies, Weather Channel co-founder Joseph D'Aleo and other scientists are organizing lobbying efforts to take aim at the cap-and-trade bill that Democrats plan to unveil in January. So far, members of Congress have not been keen to publicly back the global cooling theory. But both senators from Oklahoma, Republicans Tom Coburn and Jim Inhofe, have often expressed doubts about how much of a role man-made emissions play. "We want the debate to be about science, not fear and hypocrisy. We hope next year's wave of new politics means a return to science," said Coburn aide John Hart. "It's the old kind of politics that doesn't consider any dissenting opinions." The global cooling lobby's challenge is enormous. Next year could be the unfriendliest yet for climate skeptics. Already, House Energy and Commerce Chairman John Dingell (D-Mich.) has lost his gavel, in part because his peers felt he was less than serious about tackling global warming. The National Academy of Sciences and most major scientific bodies agree that global warming is caused by man-made carbon emissions. But a small, growing number of scientists, including D'Aleo, are questioning how quickly the warming is happening and whether humans are actually the leading cause. Armed with statistics from the Goddard Institute for Space Studies and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Climate Data Center, D'Aleo reported in the 2009 Old Farmer's Almanac that the U.S. annual mean temperature has fluctuated for decades and has only risen 0.21 degrees since 1930 - which he says is caused by fluctuating solar activity levels and ocean temperatures, not carbon emissions. Data from the same source shows that during five of the past seven decades, including this one, average U.S. temperatures have gone down. And the almanac predicted that the next year will see a period of cooling.
"We're worried that people are too focused on carbon dioxide as the culprit," D'Aleo said. "Recent warming has stopped since 1998, and we want to stop draconian measures that will hurt already spiraling downward economics. We're environmentalists and conversationalist at heart, but we don't think that carbon is responsible for hurricanes." D'Aleo's organization, the International Climate and Environmental Change Assessment Project, is collaborating on the campaign with the Cooler Heads Coalition, a subgroup of the National Consumer Coalition with members including Americans for Tax Reform, the National Center for Policy Analysis and Citizens for a Sound Economy. More than 31,000 scientists across the world have signed the Global Warming Petition Project, a declaration started by a group of American scientists that states man's impact on climate change can't be reasonably proven. If the project gains traction, it might give skeptical lawmakers an additional weapon to fight cap-and-trade legislation to curtail greenhouse gases - a move they worry could damage the already fragile economy. At the least, congressional aides say, it could caution additional lawmakers from rushing into a hasty piece of legislation. Many Hill skeptics have varying opinions on whether the earth's temperature is warming more slowly than some environmentalists predict and how much man is actually contributing to it. Inhofe's staff has been steadily compiling a list of global cooling findings. And aides report that they have received countless e-mails from scientists worldwide supporting the theory. While Inhofe hasn't indicated that he will move forward with the information anytime soon, his aides continue to compile it.

Republicans aren't the only ones who are wary of hastily passing a greenhouse gas bill. Ten Democrats wrote to Senate leaders earlier this year, citing economic concerns as a key reason why they didn't vote for the Senate's cap-and-trade bill. And despite Democrats' pickups in the Senate this fall, several of the new Democrats are from conservative, energy-producing states and may not be supportive, either. But congressional aides say it could be a long wait before lawmakers are comfortable pushing science that contradicts the global warming theory. And until the lobby gains traction, skeptics plan to continue pushing their ideas by arguing for protection of the economy, where they hope to meet middle ground with global warming supporters. "Never underestimate the ability of Congress to offer nonsolutions to problems that do not exist," said Marc Morano, communications director for the Republicans on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. "We could spend weeks arguing the mounting scientific evidence refuting man-made warming fears," he added, "but it's the economic arguments that have the most immediate impact." At the Cato Institute, senior fellow Patrick Michaels, a contributing author of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, said most of Washington is already too deeply entrenched in the global warming mantra to turn back. "You can't expect the scientific community to now come to Washington and say this isn't a problem. Once the apocalypse begins to deliver research dollars, you don't want to reverse it," said Michaels. "Washington works by lurching from crisis to crisis." Despite the growing science, the world's leading crusader on climate change, Al Gore, is unconcerned. "Climate deniers fall into the same camp as people who still don't believe we landed on the moon," said the former vice president's spokeswoman, Kalee Kreider. "We don't think this should distract us from the reality."

Pinon Canyon Expansion Opposition Group, "Not 1 More Acre!"
Exposes Army's Documented 7 Million Acre Land Grab

Article From: Not 1 More Acre! For more information or to arrange interviews, contact news@not1moreacre.net, 719-252-5145
The Pentagon has been planning since at least 2004 to acquire almost 7 million acres in southeastern Colorado, forcing more than 17,000 residents off their land to establish the largest military base in the world, according to documents obtained in a federal court case. The unprecedented acquisition of 6.9 million acres, or 10,800 square miles, of private and public land would result in a military reservation larger than some states, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New Jersey. The multi-service battlefield would be more than triple the size of the enormous White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, which at 3,200 square miles is currently the largest military installation in the United States. It would undermine the whole southeastern corner of Colorado east of the Rockies destroying the last intact shortgrass prairie remaining in the American Great Plains. The May 2004 policy document prepared by Fort Carson was obtained as part of a federal court challenge to Pentagon plans to expand the size and boundaries of the 238,000-acre Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site (PCMS). A copy of the document, titled 'Analysis of Alternatives Study: Pinon Canyon Manueuver Site, Colorado,' can be found at www.not1moreacre.net/docs. Expansion opposition group Not 1 More Acre! is suing the Army over violations of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) associated with the Pinon Canyon Transformation Environmental Impact Statement issued in 2006. NEPA requires public disclosure of major federal actions. The 2004 document strongly supports the use of 5.9 million acres of private land and 1 million acres of public land across five counties to form an installation for training all branches of the US military as well as 'allied forces.' The region was overcome by the Dust Bowl in the 1930s and includes the Comanche National Grassland the largest expanse of prairie set aside for restoration from that era. The Pentagon's analysis makes clear that the land acquisition was designed to take place in many phases, with the first phase matching almost exactly the Army's current push for about 100,000 acres next to the PCMS. Rancher and Not 1 More Acre! board member Mack Louden said the document revealed the true scale of the Pentagon's ambitions to swallow southeastern Colorado. 'This report also shows that far from compromising its plans, the Army is actually sticking almost exactly to the phased acquisition laid out in this document,' Louden said. 'Army assistant secretary Keith Eastin has stated publicly that the Pentagon will be back for more land in the future.' 'People need to understand the sheer size of this planned land grab and the disastrous consequences of letting the Pentagon get one more acre. The damage to this fragile region and the rare wildlife it supports would be catastrophic. Ranchers whose relationships with the native grasslands go back many generations would lose their lands and their livelihoods. The region's family ranching and agriculture-based economy and the communities that depend upon it would be devastated. And a vast trove of historical, archaeological and paleontological treasures would be lost.' Jim Herrell, a co-plaintiff in the lawsuit against the Army explained, 'Now we see why the Army plans to build extensive facilities and intensify use on the 238,000 acres they already have but rarely used. The Army got its foot in the door in the 1980s with promises that they'd never be back and there would be no live-fire. Those promises are broken. Letting the Pentagon go ahead with their plan inside and outside the PCMS would open the gate to an unconscionable drain on taxpayers.' 'Every level of democracy has voiced its opposition to the expansion of the size and boundaries at Pinon Canyon clearly and repeatedly yet the Pentagon and its contractors refuse to heed the will of the people,' added Mr. Herrell. On September 31 President George W. Bush signed into law legislation that continues a Congressional ban first adopted in 2007 on funding for all aspects of the Pinon Canyon expansion plan. The ban - led by Colorado's Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R, 4th CD) and co-sponsored by Rep. John Salazar (D, 3rd CD) - prevents any expenditure on expanding facilities within the existing 238,000-acre PCMS or acquiring additional land. The Government Accountability Office is investigating numerous Army violations of that ban and is due to report later this year.

A new Cornell study, published online in Nature Geosciences, quantified the amount of black carbon in Australian soils and found that there was far more than expected, said Johannes Lehmann, the paper's lead author and a Cornell professor of biogeochemistry. The survey was the largest of black carbon ever published. [.] The findings are significant because soils are by far the world's largest source of carbon dioxide, producing 10 times more carbon dioxide each year than all the carbon dioxide emissions from human activities combined. Small changes in how carbon emissions from soils are estimated, therefore, can have a large impact. [.] "But this particular aspect, black carbon's stability in soil, if incorporated in climate models, would actually decrease climate predictions."'Life-long liberal Democrat' Meteorologist rejects 'fear mongering clap-trap about human-caused global warming' - By Dr. Martin Hertzberg, a retired Navy meteorologist with a PhD in physical chemistryExcerpt: s a scientist and life-long liberal Democrat, I find the constant regurgitation of the anecdotal, fear mongering clap-trap about human-caused global warming to be a disservice to science, to your readers, and to the quality of the political dialogue leading up to the election. [.] The global warming alarmists don't even bother with data! All they have are half-baked computer models that are totally out of touch with reality and have already been proven to be false.Ski Paradise: 'Snow-vember' Sees Ski Resorts Open Early Around The World - November 17, 2008Excerpt: 'Snow-vember' Sees Ski Resorts Open Early Around The World Skiinfo.com, is reporting bumper pre-season snow across the northern hemisphere with the Alps, Pyrenees, Scandinavia and the Rockies all receiving huge early snow falls that have brought wonderful powder snow conditions for skiers and boarders on the glacier ski areas that were already open, and led to an increasing number of resorts in Canada, Italy, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and the US to open up to a month earlier than plannedSouth African Scientist Warns of 'Interference' By 'Old Colonial Powers' - 'WWF and Greenpeace are not welcome in this country' - Exposes 'Climate Alarmism' November 14, 2008By Professor Dr. William J.R. Alexander, Emeritus of the Department of Civil and Biosystems Engineering at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and a former member of the United Nations Scientific and Technical Committee on Natural Disasters. Excerpt: Have you not noticed the growing opposition by African countries to interference in our affairs by the old colonial powers? [.] The WWF and Greenpeace are not welcome in this country. Nor are the activities of their South African lackeys. [.] Your vigorous pro-environmental, anti-social actions will soon be seen as pressures by a small, affluent white community who have no concern at all for South Africa's large and growing, economically disadvantaged black communities. [.] Many thanks for all those emails urging me to continue exposing this whole climate alarmism issue for what it is.Africa to pay for Europe's "green policies"Excerpt: Campaigns to buy locally produced food and travel to local destinations particularly hit out against African products. Consumers in Europe are again growing more environmentally conscious and are willing to use their purchasing power to assist in what is widely seen as our era's most pressing problems - the overspending of energy and global warming. Meanwhile, European politicians have been those pressuring strongest to gain support for the Kyoto Protocol while having totally failed to lower emissions of climate gases in their own countries. In every country, emissions have steadily increased.Another Dissenter: Atmospheric Scientist says 'growing number of scientists' are skeptical of warming fears! - November 20, 2008Dr. James Koermer, a meteorology professor at Plymouth State University presentation it titled "Inconvenient Science." Excerpt: Kevin McGuire, a fellow professor at PSU, said Koermer's presentation was "very well done." "I agree that there are a lot of uncertainties," McGuire said about the causes and nature of global climate change. [.] During a presentation at the university on Wednesday, Koermer explained why there are a growing number scientists, such as himself, who don't subscribe to the popular theory on global warming. [.]Koermer said just because he doesn't think man-made carbon dioxide is contributing significantly to climate change, it does not mean he is opposed to the increased use of renewable fuel sources. [.] "Over millions of years there have been periods when we have been hotter than we are today," Koermer said. He added that while humans do have an impact on the climate, it is minimal compared to natural phenomena. He also said that humans are not the biggest producers of carbon dioxide and that the gas is not the most abundant green house gas in the atmosphere. That title goes to water vapor, which is produced by the world's oceans.Another Dissenter: Astrophysicist says put IPCC reports 'in the trash!' - - November 20, 2008"What I'd do with the IPCC report is to put it in the trash can because that's all it's worth," said Dennis Hollars, who holds a doctorate in astrophysics from New Mexico State University. His brazen pronouncement produced an eruption of laughter among the packed audience. Hollars produced a similar reaction from the crowd when, challenged by Gershenson about the inconsistencies of the data in the graphs he was presenting, he claimed to "not care" which one was accurate. [.] Hollars, meanwhile, claimed that carbon dioxide was an insignificant component of the earth's atmosphere and that, rather than being the purveyor of doom it is currently viewed as today, it is needed in order for plants to grow.Another Dissenter: Meteorologist Declares 'CO2 has never led to an increase in temperature' - November 20, 2008Excerpt: "One of the central arguments of the side arguing that global warming is a natural occurrence was that temperatures were driving the increase in carbon dioxide, rather than the commonly accepted reverse. "CO2 has never led to an increase in temperature, based on historical record," said Robert Cohen, a certified consulting meteorologist.Scientist rejects UN climate fears as 'simplistic, superficial, and now proven wrong' - November 19, 2008(By Dr. Dr Jim Sprott, OBE, MSc, PhD, FNZIC, a consulting chemist and forensic scientist of Auckland.)Excerpt: "The projections of the IPCC are simplistic, superficial, and now proven wrong. John Christy, an atmospheric scientist at the University of Alabama, has done studies on climate models and says they are extremely limited tools in trying to mimic what happens in nature. He said they are unable to reproduce all of the naturally occurring influences and, as a result, give a false picture of what might be causing changes in the environment. [.] "Just 1,000 years ago the Arctic was much warmer than it is today so it's interesting that they would use the term conclusively," he said. So, in the rapidly evolving field of climate change, by grounding its TSD in the IPCC AR4 the EPA is largely relying on scientific findings that are, by late 2008, nearly 3 years out of date. And a lot has happened in those intervening three years. . A Canadian study has concluded that we must be causing climate change because nothing else can explain it.UN IPCC = 'Worst case of scientific malpractice in history' says Climate Scientist Dr. Spencer[ Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Roy W. Spencer, formerly a senior scientist for climate studies at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center where he received NASA's Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal, is currently principal research scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. ] Spencer Excerpt: I find it astounding that the IPCC has ignored the potential role of natural climate variability in global warming. In any other realm of science we are careful to look for alternative explanations for some phenomenon.but today, mankind is the only allowable reason for climate change. I predict that the IPCC experience will end up being the worst case of scientific malpractice in history. MIT Climate Scientist Exposes 'Corrupted Science' in Devastating Critique - Sep 24, 2008Excerpt: MIT Meteorology Professor Richard S. Lindzen, confirms how Al Gore and his minions used Stalinist tactics to subvert, suborn and corrupt a whole branch of science, citing chapter and verse in his report entitled "Climate Science: Is it currently designed to answer questions?" His answer: A resounding "NO!"Full Lindzen paper here:Brazilian Meteorologist Scoffs at Notion Mankind impacts climate more than Sun and Oceans - Brazilian meteorologist Eugenio HackbartExcerpt: So, given that August was the first month since 1913 in which no sunspot activity was recorded -- none -- and during which solar winds were at a 50-year low, he was not surprised that Brazilians were suffering (for them) a brutal cold snap. "This is no coincidence," he said as he scoffed at the notion that manmade carbon emissions had more impact than the sun and oceans on global climate.UK scientist: 'Green' totalitarianism promotes 1984 style tactics - By Philip Stott, emeritus professor of biogeography, University of London.Excerpt: The second tactic has been to try to manufacture, in the style of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four (1947), an all-encompassing external threat against which there must be perpetual war. The prime example of this is 'global warming', which has been likened in gravity to the Great World Wars. Such a perpetual threat demands the downplaying of democracy, the legitimising of 'Green' totalitarianism, the destruction of markets, and the establishment of Ministries of Truth.Skeptical Physicist Freeman Dyson: 'When science gets rich it becomes political' - November 19, 2008Canadian scientist: 'Scientific assumptions underlying Kyoto are false!' - 'A revolution in climate change science' since Kyoto - November 18, 2008 (By Paleoclimatologist Tim Patterson, professor in the department of Earth Sciences at Carleton University in Ottawa)Excerpt: In the eight years since the Kyoto Protocol was first introduced, there has been a revolution in climate change science. What we have learned is that many of the scientific assumptions underlying Kyoto are false. Climate is not naturally constant and global warming is not evidence of human interference," he insists. "Climate change, including global warming and cooling, is perfectly normal." Patterson contends that the sun is the reason why the 20th century has experienced some of the hottest temperatures in recent history. "My own research shows that, on all time scales, there is a very good correlation between the Earth's temperature and natural celestial phenomena, such as changes in the brightness of the sun. The fact that the sun is now brighter than it has been in 8,000 years should have a major impact on climate." Patterson is not alone in his claims. In fact, a large number of scientists from around the world agree that anthropogenic (human) activity is not the cause of global warming. 'Fixing' global warming called 'another meaningless promise' - Edmonton Sun - November 13, 2008Excerpt: it's time to start thinking of "fixing" global warming the same way we do "ending" child poverty. Or "settling" native land claims. Or "shortening" medical wait times. [.] The number of hurricanes around the world was now decreasing, he said. Sea ice in western Antarctica was ''a little bit unstable'' while sea ice on the east of the continent was ''getting bigger''. ''The continent of Antarctica is actually rising.'' Well-known active volcanoes were sitting under Antarctica and ''pumping out exceptionally hot air''. Carbon dioxide levels had been ''very much higher in the past'' and the world was at one of the lowest levels of CO2 in history. ''Most of the emissions come from natural sources, and most of the emissions we don't even put into our calculations.'' Sea levels had risen 130m over the past 14,000 years, or 1cm per year, far from doomsday scenarios, he said. AAPUK SCIENTIST: 'BBC SHUNNED ME FOR DENYING CLIMATE CHANGE' - Says Warming Science has 'Gone Awry' - November 5 , 2008 - UK Daily ExpressExcerpt: respected botanist and the author of 35 books, he had presented around 400 programmes over the years and was appreciated by audiences for his boundless enthusiasm. Yet for more than 10 years he has been out of the limelight, shunned by bosses at the BBC where he made his name, as well as fellow scientists and environmentalists. His crime? Bellamy says he doesn't believe in man-made global warming. [.] And my opinion is that there is absolutely no proof that carbon dioxide is anything to do with any impending catastrophe. The science has, quite simply, gone awry. In fact, it's not even science any more, it's anti-science. There's no proof, it's just projections and if you look at the models people such as Gore use, you can see they cherry pick the ones that support their beliefs.Study finds Greenland Ice Melt 'Slowed Significantly' - WorldClimateReport.com - November 14, 2008Excerpt: Despite all the talk about moulins, melting, rapid acceleration of ice, van der Wal et al. reveal that the ice movement in western Greenland over the past 17 years has . slowed significantly. There exists a large and vocal group of highly qualified dissenters (often denigrated as sceptics, deniers or worse). In the absence of computer models there would be little credence given to the view that the relatively small warming of the second half of the twentieth century was due to carbon dioxide emissions; there would certainly be no credence given to the possibility of irreversible runaway global warming over the coming century. The blog post above claims that "more than 300" were there, but I'm skeptical that even that many people bothered to show up. In the provided photos, the "crowd" looks pretty sparse--I can see what appears to be at least two or three of the same people in both shots: According to Weather Underground, yesterday's DC temperature topped out at 40 degrees, a nice round 40 degrees shy of the 1921 record high.Meteorologist says 'don't believe it' to claims that October was 2nd Warmest - November 18, 2008Excerpt: This is not surprising as NOAA has become the biggest outlier in recent months. They have thanks to Tom Peterson and Tom Karl a global data base that is worth nothing. There is little or no adjustment for urbanization, land use changes, no adjustment for bad station siting (69% of the 560 US climate stations surveyed by Anthony Watts team of volunteers were poor or very poorly sited), 2/3rds of the stations globally dropped out around 1990, the number of missing months increased tenfold in the FSU and Africa after 1990, and changes in instrumentation like here in the US that Tom Karl himself found produced a warm bias of 0.5F. Not less than 6 peer review studies have shown these issues may account for up to 50% of the warming since 1900. Trust only the satellite. In fact, this October was the 10th warmest of the 30 years of data for the MSU satellite according to UAH with only a 0.167C (0.3F) anomaly instead of the 1.1F (2nd warmest out of 129 years) as per NOAA. Unfortunately satellite data extends only back to 1979.Roger Pielke Jr.: The Polish Loophole Takes ShapeExcerpt: So the question has been, what will it take to get Poland's agreement to an EU climate policy package? The obvious answer is to somehow create a loophole for Poland to be exempt from the requirements of EU climate policies. Such loopholes are the Achilles Heel of cap-and-trade, and doom the EU plans to policy failure. U.S. cap-and-traders should take note.Roger Pielke Jr. : nd here's the Indian loopholeExcerpt: SPIEGEL ONLINE: Mr. Saran, when will India oblige itself to start restricting its own CO2 emissions?Saran: Even though there is no legal obligation on India in this respect, the Prime Minister of India made a commitment that India's per capita emissions will at no time exceed the average of the per capita emissions of developed, industrialized countries. We have thus accepted a limit on our emissions and at the same time provided an incentive to our partners in developed countries to be more ambitious. The more significant their reductions of emissions, the lower the limit we would need to accept for our own.Global Cooling Caused by Warming? Global Cooling 'may indeed be a consequence of the increasing atmospheric murkiness caused by warming' - Herald Sun Andrew Bolt Blog - November 20, 2008Excerpt: Lawyers Weekly Online: It seems almost impossible that, whatever the debate about the causes of global warming, some people simply refuse to believe that any appreciable change outside normal climatic cycles is actually happening: some even say we are headed for a period of global cooling - which may indeed be a consequence of the increasing atmospheric murkiness caused by warming, but which encourages a way of thinking that fails to address our need to do something about the warming phase if we'd like to see life on Earth remain more or less as it is now.'Greenhouse theory does not stack up - Wine Mag - November 18, 2008Excerpt: From Australian and New Zealand Wine Industry Journal (article from BraveNewClimate.files.wordpress.com)'Greenhouse theory does not stack up' - Wine Mag by well known West Australian wine maker Erl Happ - I have a sticking point with the 'science of global warming'. It's not global. In fact, it is confined in the main to the Northern Hemisphere.....If 'greenhouse theory' were correct, warming would be seen in all places and in all seasons. But, the advance in temperature is mostly in the winter and spring. There is an obvious cause for this and it's the heat stored in the oceans as a result of episodes of tropical warming that are described as 'El Niño' events after the most obvious manifestation in the Pacifi c Ocean. In brief, this is the situation as I see it:.....More from Skeptical Winemaker: LET US BANISH RELIGION FROM SCIENCE! - Skeptical WINE Maker Says"Let us not confuse environmental religion with observational science. Taking Stock

This graph is a great historical perspective of the stock "market". Our belief systems are so powerful they can create facts and fiction out of thin air. This market is not a market in the sense of a free and open market. Once you start to understand how deeply corrupt the monetary system is, as well as the central banking systems and the government systems controlling every aspect of our lives, you can start to understand how to free yourself. Assuming you know you are not free.

With this new perspective, you can track how the dark side will try again to blow up the empty balloon of debt, broker more illegitimate wars for more usurious interest for more usurious debt for more usurious taxes to create an illusion that we are a free and profitable nation. Then when these takings fail again, they will bailout the national and international gangsters upon our backs using the same ole propaganda. Our families have died to keep this illegitimate game going for 232 years here in America and abroad.

The answers are always simple. Let those who fail, fail. What a great lesson failure is. It is the best professor I ever had. Who wants to learn something new, especially outside ones belief system unless you experience direct failure as a result of your personal confidence levels. After a few failures, one get desperate enough to do something drastic and change the way you think and believe. America has been propping up a growing government model of failure for centuries.

Profit = gross revenue - cost of doing business. Free markets require profit for all of us to survive. Without responsible profit, we degenerate into fascism which is where we are today in America and rapidly spreading around the world. While the fix is simple, the irony is in the detail.

Profitable businesses and individuals are soon surrounded, regulated to death and devoured by those sharks who refuse to live on their own. In turn, those businesses, corporations and individuals, who do become successful, too frequently become greedy and turn to sharking out their own kind as well as their employees, i.e. less benefits and less competition = more profit. In turn the people and the businesses create a third type of shark to "protect" themselves or so they think, i.e. "government". Then they create another shark called unions to protect them from the other sharks.

Thus we create the "perfect storm", a cycle of a degenerating feeding frenzy. We feed upon each others greed, fear, envy and weakness. No non government or government institutional shark is going to save those they feed upon. These institutions have lost the most fundemental principles long ago.

The model we have built over the last 232 years was debased from the get go, believe it or not. The first experiment in "freedom", while giving us a relative quantum leap toward more individual freedom in America was undermined by the intention of the founding "lieyers" and part ignorance of the apathic uninvited other 3 million colonists. 34 of the 55 Constitutional signers in Philadelphia were lawyers, i.e. "lieyers". We have political courts NOT constitutional courts. The Constitution was a product of the state "delegates" not the people. This is only the tip of the constitutional takings researchers are just starting to understand.

After one studies history long enough, the question is not, were "they" successful,
But just exactly who was successful and at what price have we all paid for this "success".
One has to train themselves to learn the basic assumptions of freedom to recognize when you are taken.
If you do not understand your fundemental unalienable rights, you are duped into fee simple title thinking you own your land
while you are taxes thru the grave on what you don't own, believing this is legitimate

Government and corporate institutions feed upon the people, needlessly.
Both institutions have become predatory upon our very lives,
our families, our wages, our land, homes, wealth, vehicles, livestock and traditional way of life.
These two sharks devour their own kind to survive NOT to protect us.
They are unquestionably cannibalistic.
The string of taking does not stop there.
The thread of conscription runs deep into our roots through the Bank of England and the Bank of Rome and beyond.

How many ways can you divide up the gift of individual and state sovereignty?
And the answer is,
in enough ways for the government and non government sharks to make your rights near invisible to you
and bite size for them
the government and non government "lieyers" have fragged our fundemental laws beyond recognition

The only way we can set ourselves free is for each one of us to become totally independent from both groups ASAP.
We have degenerated from the land of the free into the hand of fascism in less than 232 years.
America has allowed itself to become enslaved to the tyranny of elite bankers and "lieyers"
These self appointed money and legal changers have robbed us blind and we don't even know it.
Some may call for a revolution which is more than justified and long over due
I call for the complete independence and sovereignty of the states from the central government and UN
I call for complete free choice for the natural born sovereign and free state Citizens
Let the Federalists central government die of atrophy and old age
Free people need free places to live and that will happen next
Free states, towns, townships will be the next revolution that will magnetize a model of unending prosperity for all

The dark side has dealt us an illegitimate hand of poison cards and stacked the deck long ago. e.g.
illegitimate usurious concept of interest rates
illegitimate tax system
worthless, corrupt and unnecessary paper not based on gold or silver
growing debt into bankrupting America several times
illegitimate laws and regulations that debase fundemental Laws of Nature and Natures God
unnecessary wars brokered for power and profit
cannibalizing our traditional way of life
making us believe that taxes upon the natural born sovereign and free state Citizens are necessary
making us believe they can regulate our lives better than we can
allowing others to legislate our life style
allowing others to take away our private property including our wages, homes, land, vehicles, livestock
then telling us this was done to protect us and keep us safe
we are not cattle nor ant colonies nor bee hives we are sovereign and untouchable.

The stock market, the monetary system, the banking system, the ABA, the government systems, court systems, election systems, state run indoctrination systems, taxing systems, ad nausea, are all totally corrupted and unnecessary to operate a free society. The irony is any forced system ultimately kill entire civilizations on the average every 200 years. How many times must we pervert free choice before we learn this simple fact?

Every city, county and state government in America survives by highly illegitimate predatory taking from the natural born, sovereign and free state Citizens.
This is totally unnecessary in a free society.
Government taking of any kind is the death knell to our national, state and individual sovereignty.
Once you start to see this pattern of forced bully behavior and you run the threads of taking back far enough, the picture becomes clear.
Force is not only unnecessary, it is highly destructive to a free society
Yet over half the population of America believe this is the only way they can survive.

Government and its non government leeches take a little dash of facts, a pinch of reality, a gallon of hype and hysteria, 5 gallons of paranoia, 10 gallons of misrepresentations(lies) and stir it up in a blender called the media to create a slop they pour into a public pig trough for us to drink from.

Each individual must cut all ties with these sharks and make themselves totally independent. Then we must show the next generation not to drink from this poison well. This slop created by these institutional sharks causes a slow horrible death.

We must learn to drink only from the cup of free choice to set ourselves free.

The dirty secret is forced takings are not necessary in free societies.
Freedom and power and greatness is built upon giving NOT forced takings of any kind.
Forced taxing upon the natural born sovereign and free state Citizen is a myth and a regressive tax.
Income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, flat taxes, VAT taxes, "Fair" taxes are all a myth
Absolutely unnecessary and an insult to a society built upon freedom.
Legitimate taxes are only upon legal fiction corporations and municipal corporation and their employees.

How to restore freedom in America is the question.
Do just the opposite of what we have done for the last 232 years
Defund government to save our traditional way of life
Let unprofitable institutions fail
Shut down the unconstitutional and illegitimate IRS
Stop all taxing and usurious interest upon the natural born sovereign and free state Citizens
Kick out the UN and the Rockefeller and globalist base who support it
reestablished a very limited government based on limited revenue sources, i.e.
indirect taxes, custom duties, the sale and lease of natural resources
individual state limited printing of constitutional gold and silver based low fractualized coin and currency redeemable in gold and silver.
Shut every cereal agency in the federal, state, county and city governments down immediately.
Americans are NOT poor though the fascist and socialist would have you believe it.
We do NOT need to rob by force from anyone.
We are more than capable of creating our own wealth if left alone by the marauding government and their codependents
City, township, state and federal governments have more than enough revenue on indirect sources at only a few percent tax
All others individual needs must be met in the private sector
There is no need for illegitimate and legitimate direct taxes or indirect taxes of any kind directly upon the natural born
Get out of the spot illegitimate spot light and red lights and exercise all of your unalienable rights ASAP
America has a grand illusion of freedom. May God grant us the strength and spirit to free ourselves and take care of ourselves by ourselves, once again. There is no fundemental laws of this country or Laws of Nature and Nature God's that require natural born sovereign free state Citizens to pay a dime to anyone.

The "bailouts" and those behind them are the problems NOT the solutions. The highest priority solution to save America is to get rid of the usurious taxes and interest rates upon the natural born sovereign and free state Citizens. Anything short of that is only a criminal political "fix" in more ways than one.

Without H-I-H, We Have No Country, Or Freedom

When the ratio of the elements "H", "I" and "H" keep getting lower in a society, with respect to the elements "G", "A" and "G", societal degradation begins to take place. As the ratio of "G", "A" and "G" climb to a significant percentage, the degradation accelerates. No, this isn't some trick chemistry formula that you forgot from high school or college, these are elements of character. The H, I and H are Honesty, Integrity and Honor. The G, A and G are greed, avarice and gluttony. We see no need in defining greed, avarice and gluttony, but to get a better handle on the definitions of Honesty, Integrity and Honor, it is helpful to provide their generally accepted meanings.

Honesty: is the human quality of communicating and acting truthfully related to truth as a value.

Integrity: comprises perceived consistency of actions, values, methods, measures and principles.

Honor: is the evaluation of a person's trustworthiness and social status based on that individual's espousals and actions.

Relationships between people and institutions are based on varying levels of trust. True trust is having faith in the predictability that a person or an entity will "honor" what they say, or deliver what they promise and act in an honest and open manner. If there is no honesty, integrity or honor, there is no trust in either individuals, business entities, or governments.

Paul Harvey often said on his radio broadcast that "self-government, without self-discipline, won't work". But the self-discipline must be in abundance in all venues. If either government, or the people, act undisciplined or irresponsible and lose their honesty, integrity and honor, chaos is the result. Chaos is what we are experiencing today because the ratio of the elements "H", "I" and "H" in both government, business and the people, have fallen below the threshold that allows self-government and thus freedom, to function properly.

There is an inescapable connection between honesty, integrity and honor, with freedom and liberty. America was founded on not only unalienable individual rights, but the inferred individual responsibility that came with those rights. That responsibility included the virtues of honesty, integrity and honor.

As a society, if we give in to greed, avarice, gluttony, drugs and other illegal behavior, cheating, or stretching the truth or outright lying and forsake honesty, integrity and honor, our freedom and liberty will evaporate into thin air. The lack of trust in people and institutions will follow.

Most of us instinctively know what is right and what is wrong. Thomas Jefferson said, "No man can acquire honor by doing what is wrong". However, way too many of us have forsaken honesty, integrity and honor in the pursuit of earthly pleasures by any means. If the accumulation of wealth is not accompanied by honest achievement, it becomes a false God. If it becomes necessary to sacrifice the virtues of honesty, integrity and honor in the pursuit of money for money's sake, the money is tainted and will bring dishonor. If politicians give in to the evils of greed and pay-offs for favors, the downfall of freedom and liberty is all but assured.

The bar of civility keeps dropping every year. Bad language has now become part of normal discourse, even on the airways. Bad behavior is rewarded with notoriety and many times with huge sums of money, or career enhancement. Many times failure is given a pass, while true achievement is belittled, or excessively taxed. Cheating on tests and making false insurance claims have become almost an accepted way of life.

When we look in the mirror, the vision we see can either be coupled with intellect and principle, or be corrupted by bias. The bias comes by ignoring the good within us and allowing the bad within us to become acceptable to our vision. If we accept the wrong vision, there is no way we can ever right a wrong, or reclaim a liberty. Government tends to mirror the "vision" that people have of themselves, as a culture.

This is not a message just about morality for morality's sake. This is a message of objective reality. If we ignore this reality, America, as a Constitutional Republic, has no chance to survive. The longevity of America's freedom and liberty is directly related to the ratio of honesty, integrity and honor, to greed, avarice and gluttony throughout the entire population.

Most of us are endowed with simple goodness. Honesty, integrity and honor are just a way to express that goodness. Without a foundation of goodness, the core of a nation will disintegrate. The cracks in the core are widening. America's core is in sad need of a massive repair job, but before repairs to the core can be made, we must, as a culture, if freedom is our objective, return to the principles of self reliance and responsibility; a responsibility that is embedded with honesty, integrity and honor.

Former President Ronald Reagan told us: "The character that takes command in moments of crucial choices has already been determined by a thousand other choices made earlier in seemingly unimportant moments. It has been determined by all the 'little' choices of years past - by all those times when the voice of conscience was at war with the voice of temptation, which was whispering the lie that 'it really doesn't matter.' It has been determined by all the day-to-day decisions made when life seemed easy and crises seemed far away - the decision that, piece by piece, bit by bit, developed habits of discipline or of laziness; habits of self-sacrifice or self-indulgence; habits of duty and honor and integrity - or dishonor and shame."

It follows that, if we do not value honesty, integrity and honor as our true character, we therefore place no value on, or virtue in, freedom and we become enslaved by our own greed, avarice and gluttony.

About Jon Marvel

By DICK DORWORTH Express Staff Writer

At irregular intervals one of my favorite environmentally intelligent publications arrives in my post box. I always read it carefully, cover to cover, as it never fails to contain useful and reliable information and insights not usually found in more mainstream environmental publications. It is called Watersheds Messenger and is published periodically by Hailey-based Western Watersheds Project, which describes itself, accurately I think, as "working to protect and restore Western watersheds and wildlife through education, public policy initiatives and litigation."
The Messenger, which has been published between two and four times a year since 1993, is one part of the education arm of WWP. It is only 16 pages and has a circulation of just 3,000, but anyone who views the landscape and wildlife of Western America as more than commodity and resource will be informed, entertained, amused, enraged and, in some cases, inspired to action by every issue. Actually, the same can be said of even those anthropocentric people who see the natural world as theirs for the taking-so long as they are honest and intelligent about the long-term sustainability of the takings. If the world is only mankind's nest (and, for the record, it is much more than that), befouling it is not in mankind's best interests, to put it less harshly than, say, a cattle-eroded bank of a stream full of cow manure and urine.
WWP and the Messenger explore the reality of what Bernard DeVoto meant when he wrote, "So now we come to the business which created the West's most powerful illusion about itself and, though this is not immediately apparent, has done more damage to the West than any other-the stock business."
For example:
The lead story in the latest (Fall 2008) issue of Watersheds Messenger is titled "Not a Good Place for Cows," and begins, "One might be hard pressed to think of a less appropriate place for livestock grazing, but that hasn't stopped the BLM from letting cows roam on the Sonoran Desert National Monument year after year."
The well-known environmental writer George Wuerthner, co-editor of "Welfare Ranching: The Subsidized Destruction of the American West," presents his argument in the same issue that "Traditional ranching in the West is on life support and dying." In fact, he writes, "Ranching is doomed in the West by rising land values," a premise he explores through the sad tale of "Bob," a third-generation Montana rancher who lost neighbors, family, community and even the ranch itself without being able to confront the change in his own life and lifestyle within a landscape that no longer sustains them. Bob seems a case study of Sigmund Freud's description of denial as a defense against any reality that might necessitate change in a person's life.

Hello Dick,
We'd be honored if you'd go to www.GoodNeighhborLaw.com and study it thoroughly. There you'll find authenticated truth and facts on protecting private property rights through science, law and education.Jon Marvel mixes just enough fact in his muses - to make his mostly un-schooled audience believe - and blindly follow - his emotionally laden fictional inaccuracies. From what I've been able to piece together over the years, Jon was denied grazing permits (For what-ever reason??) - and has been on a grudge bent since...to get all cattle off the land.He seeks to deny the majority of us who consider cattle:a) Adding to the artistic value of "living" landscapes.b) In partnership with cattle producers, they're excellent stewards of the land.c) Providing needed nutritional values in our diets, and a multitude of outside uses.Frankly - I'd rather see herds of cattle on the slope of a mountain, in a wide vast valley, trailing along rugged canyonlands and so on, than a Cristo curtain. If Jon Marvel was sincere in his concerns about our lands, he'd work to stop the ban on horse slaughter, adopt a few thousand feral horses, and help maintain reasonable elk, deer, bison, moose and antelope herds.Remember; Jon is the same guy who'd have you believe cattle are responsible for hummocks... To which I pose the question: "How do you explain hummocks on the moon? When the cow tried to jump over it, did it instead land on it?
